About

Agricultural Sublime

As coined by Michael Pollan, the agricultural sublime is defined as “the satisfactions of the ordered earth.”

Challenging the seeming oxymoron, where sublime traditionally involves nature having her way with us, this blog redefines the concept to showcase the satisfaction derived from working harmoniously with nature and still enjoying “the pleasure of beholding the reflection of our labor and intelligence in the land.”

This blog delves into the latest in news and research regarding biotechnology, genetic engineering, and sustainable agriculture practices.

Our mission is to make our world a better place through science and innovation.

Meet the founder

MEI COOPER

Welcome to AgSublime! I’m Mei Cooper, an aspiring plant biotechnologist with a vision to contribute to the noble efforts of genetic engineers, biotechnologists, and humble gardeners working tirelessly to address the challenge of feeding our exponentially growing population on a planet with increasingly limited resources.

As a freshman studying Genetics and Plant Biology at the University of California, Berkeley, I am looking forward to pursuing plant biology and agricultural biotechnology research. My fascination with the field stems from my family nurturing a backyard garden growing up and a deep-rooted belief in the transformative potential of biotechnology.

In a world where the demand for food is growing at an unprecedented rate, I am inspired by the prospect of contributing to a future of sustainable, and nourishing food production. My dream is to be part of a community that pioneers advancements in genetic engineering, biotechnology, and agriculture to ensure a future where everyone has access to wholesome food.

This blog serves as a platform to share my journey, discoveries, and insights as I explore the fascinating intersection of science, technology, and agriculture. Join me as I navigate the dynamic landscape of agricultural biotechnology, and together, let’s cultivate a sustainable future.
